winter marsala chi

1 bag English Breakfast Tea
1 tbsp. (15 mL) whole cardamom
2 large cinnamon sticks
1/2 tsp. (3 mL) whole cloves
2 whole star anise
1/4 tsp. (2 mL) ground ginger

1. Fill a medium teapot with boiling water. Add tea bag and spices; let steep, covered, for approximately 5 minutes.

2. Remove tea bag only and let tea steep another 10 minutes.

3. Strain spices through a tea strainer into tea cups.

4. Serve with cream or milk and sugar.
Makes 6 servings.

Nutrient analysis per serving:
20 calories, 0.6 grams protein, 4.9 grams carbohydrates, 0.5 grams of fat per serving with milk.
